To obtain a reduction in the size of the labia minora (inner), the excess tissue is removed from the area utilizing various surgical procedures, depending on the circumstances. Hyaluronic acid or fat is injected for a more permanent effect when we want to increase the volume of the area. We can also operate on the labia majora (the outside of the vulva) using the same procedures, which allows us to achieve either a reduction or an increase in the total volume of the vulva
This is a day case procedure done under local anaesthetic and sedation
In the initial postoperative period, patients are recommended to avoid any physical activity for around one month, as well as sexual intercourse for approximately four to six weeks. After the operation, patients can return to work within two to three days
