Techniques in rhinoplasty

Once the nasal growth has come to an end, technically speaking, rhinoplasty can be performed. The nasal growth is often completed by the age of 16 years. On the other hand, another prerequisite for a successful rhinoplasty is a patient who is not emotionally unstable. Surgery may be required at a younger age due to considerable functional insufficiency or other medical reasons.
Most of the time, a patient must be under general anaesthesia. However, in circumstances that demand slight adjustments, such as a bit of change to the nose tip, the treatment can be performed under sedation and local anaaesthetic.
In some cases fillers, can be injected in the area to make subtle adjustments to the nose's size and shape. This is an office based procedure under a local anaesthetic.
Each rhinoplasty technique has its own specific indications and contraindications, which the surgeon needs to discuss with the patient and evaluate preoperatively carefully.
Procedures for rhinoplasty typically take less than two hours, but this timeframe might vary greatly depending on the case's specifics.
It is strongly recommended that you take it easy and rest for the first week after surgery to speed up your recovery and reduce any bruising and swelling that may have occurred. Despite the likelihood of some mild bruising, patients who have jobs that require them to sit for long periods of time can return to work one week after surgery, when the bandages are removed, without putting their health in danger.
