Facial clefts

The Cleft patients experience multiple difficulties throughout their life. The reconstruction of these defects addresses cosmetic and functional issues with the lip and palate and  is suggested that newborns with facial clefts undergo surgery within their first year of life.

Cleft lips and palates are the two types of facial gaps that occur most frequently. A cleft lip occurs when there is an incomplete convergence of the lips, while a cleft palate occurs when there is an insufficient convergence of the lips, maxilla, and palate. As a result, the reconstruction of each anomaly is performed  through special techniques involving commonly local flaps
